About the Event
Staying active is one of the key components to being healthy. However, there are several areas where black and brown people are underrepresented and too often unsafe when entering these spaces. Tennis, golf, rock climbing, skiing, hiking, hockey, gymnastics, ballet are all activities that contribute to our wellness, but when black and brown people have entered these spaces they have either been unwelcomed or worse. Furthermore, even in spaces where there are a pre-dominance of black and brown faces there are still limitations put into place and blatant discrimination. We will also discuss the economics, city planning and gentrification that collectively work together to prevent access. Lastly and most unfortunately, we will address the threat black and brown people face when simply in public exercising such as in the case of Auhmad Audrey.
For the discussion, I will have two special guests, Chickaro Martin dubbed The Health Architect and Tiffany…
