About the Event
The Connection Between Flexibility and Function - Saturday, March 23, 2019 1030a - 1130a
Flexibility is a key tenet to any fitness program. Any goals you are looking to achieve need flexibility as a priority. Tight muscles not only inhibit movement, but also prevent muscles from firing properly. In this hour long class you will learn proper foam rolling and stretching techniques and how flexibility can improve muscle activation and results.
Powerful Glutes, Strong Body - Saturday, April 20, 2019 1030a - 1130a
You may know that the core is essential and important to your overall function. However, the gluteus supports your core and is thus equally important. Learn about when your gluteus should be powering a movement and what to do when they are clearly not doing their job. We will review several techniques for activating your gluteus and go through a step by step process of achieving full function.
Core Stability - Saturday, May 18, 2019 1030a - 1130a
The core is the powerhouse of the body. With washboard abs plastered all over Instagram, you may be at no shortage when it comes to your motivation on working this body part. However, it is important to note that core stability comes from the inside out. In this hour long session, you will learn how to activate the inner core muscles, perform effective core exercises and learn what exercises may be doing more damage than good.
The Confident, Superhero Back - Saturday, June 22, 2019 1030a - 1130a
"Stand up tall, with your chin up high. Stop Slouching!" We've all heard it before, but good posture isn't just about presentation, it can also affect our mechanics. Whether it's from sleeping on your side, hunching over your computer at work or letting your head hang down while you scroll through texts on your cell phone bad posture can affect you down your kinetic chain. Anteriorly rotated shoulders or the "slumped look", caused primarily by bad posture can lead to a myriad of shoulder issues, inhibition in movements, diminished fitness results and back pain. In this hour long course, you will learn how to effectively and efficiently improve your posture, strengthen your back and how a Superhero back can bring more balance through your whole body.
